Troops

A Basic Run Through Of Initial Troop Types To Get You Started In A New Realm.

Transport Troops

These are the troop types that carry the resources you take from Wilds, Anthro Camps, Opposition Players or to you're own alliance teammates... You should be aiming to build Armoured Transporters (AT's) as fast as possible due them being able to carry a load of 5000 resources per troop... Pack Dragons (Packs) carry a load of 6000 per troop but are only available to be won via a Fortuna Medallion/ play 5 out of 5 days daily bonus or for extremely short periods when Kabam runs a limited troop building promotion... Porters are extremely slow and should only be used at the very beginning stage of the realm as you begin to farm Wilds and level 1 camps if you don't already posses AT's, Porters however do have a secondary function (see below in individual troop type functions, stats and explanations).

Spys

Spys are spys. A couple hundred to begin with is essential. Many seem to think you need thousands of these in order to see whats on someones wall. But one spy can tell you that. If you send the spy as attack your report will show you what the opponent has on wall.
Spies on attack are also ideal to use when spamming for GD armour

Mino's & LBM

Minotaur's (Mino's)and Longbowman (LBM) can really be classed as the 'meatshield and range combo' These should be the first Real Troops you should build to get you up and running in your Realm. They are a reliable combination to send with AT's to attack the lowest level Wildernesses(lvl 1-4) and camps(lvl 1-2),

However LBM is where you should concentrate your troop building to make steady progression. It requires 5500 LBM (5.5k) along with 130 AT's to attack a Level 5 Anthro Camp (This is VERY safe amounts of troops to send often called "overkill"), which is necessary to gain Great Dragon Armour (4 pieces in total) This will open up the game for you to expand your empire and begin search for your 1st Outpost Egg (Water egg)
NOTE: Weapons Calibration lvl 5, Medicine lvl 4 & Metalurgy lvl 4 is required for attacking Level 5 antho camps.

SSD and BD's

Swift Strike Dragons (ssd) and Battle Dragons (bd's) are melee troops (close quarters fighters) which have the ability to carry more resources than any of the other initial troops (except transport troops) They have both, vastly stronger attacking abilities & much better speed than mino's, halbs & lbm thus taking much longer to build per troop... I have seen 2000 BD's kill 125,000 LBM, sheer numbers of troops doesn't make a difference if they're attck/defend can't hold up against the oppositions...
NOTE: If you are being attacked by SSD or BD's and only posses a core army of mainly LBM DO NOT DEFEND regardless if you outnumber them.

The Elites

These troops can only be built in the corresponding Outpost. For Example, Fangtooths can only be built in the 'Water Outpost', Granite Ogres in the 'Stone Outpost' etc etc
These are the troops you are truly aiming to be the backbone of your army, they're attack and defend abilities are un-measurable in comparison to the above listed Troops.

NOTE: See my individual troop description/purpose below for explained details as how to best use these troops.

Troops (Regular)

Porter

Porters, are a very slow transport troop. Due to their slowness and lack of Res Load, being able to build AT's is important as early on in the game as possible. In my current realm Harrier I built a total of 200 in the beginning phase and have 102 of them left. They're only purpose as you progress in your game is to deliberately send a 'slow march' at someone. This can ensure a player cannot warp away to another location whilst being under attack and because they are low in power and easily replaceable, losing 1 here and 10 there is no big deal whatsoever.

Conscript

Conscripts can be a taboo subject, some love them for the power gain reason others don't see the point and ignore them until needed to train Dark Slayers. This is the fastest troop to be able to churn out of your garrisons/training camps, especially around 'Kabam Tournaments of Power' players will build these by the 100's of K's. Easily killed by themselves.

Spy

Halberdsman

The reason for Halberdsman not being listed above in 'Initial Troop Types' is because they are a pointless troop and only serve two purposes in game, firstly they can be used as a 'speed bump*' and secondly they are a requirement in building Sand Striders.

Minotaur

Longbowman

Swift Strike Dragon

Battle Dragon

Armoured Transport

Armoured Transports will be the epicentre of resource gathers for your army.

Giant

Fire Mirror

Elite Troops

Fangtooth

Fangtooths will be the first of the Elite Troops you'll be able to build, vastly more powerful than any of the previous troops you've been able to train. A level 10 Training camp is required in your Water Outpost in order to train them which will cost a Completion Grant (CG). Below is a list of FG's required to attack Anthro camps.
Level 1 camp 50 FTs
Level 2 camp 250 FTs
Level 3 camp 500 FTs
Level 4 camp 900 FTs
Level 5 camp 1500 FTs
Level 6 camp 4500 FTs
Level 7 camp 14.5k FTs
NOTE: FTs do not carry many resources so at least enough ATs to carry back the available resources should be sent with them.
Always use AT's with them, especially for higher level camps

Granite Ogre

Lava Jaws

The LJ's are the definitive attacking troop doing their damage from range, When complimented with GO's and 'speed bumps*' they can cause massive amounts of damage.

Banshee

Soul Reaper

Frost Giant

Venom Dweller

Petrified Titan

Sand Strider

Dark Slayer

Untrainable troops (Unless Kabam has limited promotions)

Pack dragon

Dimentional Ruiner

Lightning Cannon

Storm Drake

Venge Wyrm

This is so outdated! There are now like 6 or 7 new troops and all of the troop artwork is completely different. Please update this.
